This is speaking to a very personal type of nostalgia I have. Basically when I was like 4-6 years old (like, late 2000's/early 2010s), I had a CD with a bunch of Warrant and other glam/80's rock songs on it that my dad made that I'd play when I went to sleep. Parts of this song kind of remind me of the sort of celestial catharsis I felt when everything on that CD was totally new to me and frankly how everything felt when even I was new to me. Also, I have synesthesia and this song is very blue and purple. Random side note but still. The song is like a distillation of gen z nostalgia about the 80's? Idk this just kinda slowly became gradually more pretentious as I wrote it. This song has like, all the stuff I like/liked about glam rock but without all of the cheese. There we go.

I know you won't get this Omar cause you're probably making a movie with emo chicks about spirits or some shit. Anyway so I'm a long time fan of The Mars Volta. I saw Volta with a perfect circle in San Francisco. I was also at the Greek Theater Berkeley, Chili Peppers and New Years Civic Center shows I'm SF. I also saw your solo show with Cedric (lol), Antemasque twice and the At the Drive In reunion. There's this band Bear VS. Shark who wants to be ATDI so bad they exploded like the Spinal Tap drummer. Anyway so you were my favorite guitarist for a long time. Admittedly I went into a metal phase hardcore for awhile but I never stopped loving Volta or Radiohead. Basically all of metal is kinda chainsaw monotone except Veil of Maya and the Contortionist. My favorite band is Mogwai so whatever. Basically you're like the father of progressive rock or whatever I play. Marc Okubo is like my evil twin brother but friend to save earth from boredom. Robert Fripp is like Grandpa or somethin. Anyway so I love it when you build up to your crazy solos live. Cedric does the high pitch static scream thing then cuts. You do your sweep triple or quadruple or whatever and everyone screams. WIP II. Cygnus Vismund. Miranda. Cicatriz ESP. I love your crazy rhythms too from Vaya to Bedlam. Your work with Ximena is some of my favorites too. The best is Deloused in the Comatorium. It's the only album that can touch my album musicisdeadandsoareyou. I'm here to say thank you, check out my album and please keep shredding. These people keep chipping away at me with nuanced attacks I can't prove. Then I play guitar and they startle me over and over building bad habits in my muscle memory. Furthermore they somehow landed charges on me and I can't make money. I need a new guitar, amp, computer, a place and more but I'm buried homeless under attack. I'm also broken at the foot, back and knuckle. I'm making a comic but the comment auto deletes if I say the title. The protagonist is named amp. I love a lot of ATDI, all of Volta, antemasque and a lot of your solo work. I hope you listen to my 12 song masterpiece musicisdeadandsoareyou. The songs are nearly impossible to play. I inverted Tosin Abasi in a way and use crazy chords, slides and fret reach. He sweeps like a midi graph all day none stop. You are up there with those guys man. Tosin Abasi, Javier Reyes, Marc Okubo and Robbie Baca. You're just as good and where they pinch you with speed sweeps you have crazy organics and key changes that get grammys. I beat them with my fret reach, slides and on/off beat switches.
